Berkeley, CA - The Hope International men's and women's track and field team continued their season with a strong performance at the Brutus Hamilton Invite at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, CA this past weekend.
Senior
Diego Pineda did a tough combination which included the 5k and 200 meter dash. He went out there and conquered both finishing with an impressive time in the 5k clocking 16:55 and 25 seconds for the 200-meter dash.Â
Caleb Ornelas and
Daniel Perez took on the challenging double of the 1500-meter dash and 800-meter dash with
Daniel Perez coming through with an impressive time in the mile at 4:27 and the 800 meter in 1:59.00.Â
Caleb Ornelas wasn't too far behind clocking 4:30 in the mile and 2:06 in the 800 meters.Â
Lupe Mata led the women also taking on the challenging double of the 1 mile and 800-meter dash. Lupe ran an impressive 1 mile personal record in 5:39.00 then turned right back around to run an impressive performance of 2:34.00 in the 800 for a personal record. Â
The Royals will continue their season at the Friday night lights Track meet at Cal State Fullerton on April 11th.
