SHAWNEE, Okla. – Playing its fifth game in three days, the Hope International softball team fell 22-3 to No. 16 Missouri Baptist on Sunday to conclude the NAIA SB Invitational.
The Spartans erupted for 12 runs in the first and four more in the second. They also scored once in the third and had a five-run fourth.
HIU scored runs on Lily Hernandez and Vivian Little RBI singles. Hernandez also scored in the first on a passed ball.
Little batted 3-for-3 at the plate. Arianna Aguirre contributed a pinch hit single and Jocelyn Aguilar had a double.
The Royals are now 12-7 on the season as they begin Great Southwest Athletic Conference action.
HIU hosts OUAZ for four games, with a Friday, March 6 doubleheader beginning at 11:00 a.m.
