SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Four Hope International men's cross country runners made their season debuts on Saturday at the TMU XC Invitational, held at Central Park.
Competing in a large field comprised of 220 individuals, junior Daniel Perez led the Royals in 89th place with a career-best 8K time of 27:07.80.
Junior Caleb Ornelas was the next Royal finisher, crossing the line in 27:40.50 for 111th place.
Making his HIU debut was freshman Jahzeel Anzola. He posted a time of 29:09.40 and finished in 166th.
Senior Andy Avalos completed the list of HIU competitors, as he clocked 30:06.40 for 192nd place.
Host The Master's won the team title with 31 points, placing four runners in the top 10. Individual champion was Jack Anderson of TMU in 24:11.70.
HIU returns to action on Saturday, September 27 at the UCR Invitational.
